Help with Improving DXF Quality and Locking Camera Rotation

Hi Eyeshot Team,

I hope you're all doing well. I’m reaching out to get some advice on a couple of things in Eyeshot.

  1. Improving DXF Quality:
I've been working with DXF exports and noticed that the quality could be better. Are there any settings or best practices within Eyeshot that can help enhance the quality of DXF files? Any tips or documentation you could point me to would be great.

  2. Locking Camera Rotation Around Z-Axis:
I'm trying to lock the camera rotation around the Z-axis to avoid the staggering effect, similar to how Revit handles it. Is there a way to achieve this in Eyeshot? Any examples or code snippets would be super helpful.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Best,
Pablo Lombardo

  • Hello Pablo,

    1) Are you referring to the number of triangles of the tessellation?

    2) This is possible with the Camera.RotationMode = TurnTable

  • Hi,

    Thanks for the quick response!

    1. Yes, I am referring to the number of triangles in the tessellation. Is there a way to merge all the triangles on a surface to improve the quality of the DXF export? Any guidance or tips on how to achieve this would be appreciated.

    2. Thanks for the tip on using Camera.RotationMode = TurnTable. I’ll give that a try!

    Best,

    Pablo Lombardo.

  • 1) This depends on the tessellation tolerance you specified during export or directly on the number of triangles your Mesh entities has.

  • Hi,

I don't know how to modify the teselation tolerance during export.

    I have another question:

Is there a way to project what I'm seeing in the Drawing view into a plane? For example, if I have a 3D view, can I create a 2D projection of it on a specific plane, as it shows on the Drawing?

I've attached an image to illustrate what I mean.

    Thanks for your help!

    Best,
