Reading IFC Files

Eyeshot already reads Step21 files. IFC files are based on Step21. Why not leverage on the existing techoloogy and add IFC reading/displaying and entity/attribute information

    I vote for IFC import/export. BIM is a huge business and IFC is widely used in that industry.

    on Version 11 the IMPORT function starts to work - i tested a few files (created with different other Systems) and it looks good, many thanks!

    Is there a plan about a IFC EXPORT/WRITE?

    We do not currently have a schedule about IFC export, we'll consider it.

    If we implement a WriteIFC would you like the possibility to decide how the geometry is written on the file? For example, if a Mesh is exported as IfcFacetedBrep or IfcSweptAreaSolid, if a profile is written as IfcIShapeProfileDef or IfcArbitraryClosedProfileDef. Or how to save the position, with different planes for the profile, swept solid, the entity.
