  • Hi Sam,

This is highly improbable, we are not allowed to sublicense SolidWorks file formats because it's s proprietary file format.

  • Hi Sam,

I fear you will only be able to do this with additional commercial (quite expensive, depending on lib probably 5-10 times the cost for Eyeshot) libraries, and then go through STEP or some other neutral file format to get it into Eyeshot. Which will mean you will lose feature history and still have to pay a lot... If that makes sense, really depends on your use case.

    Best regards
    Martin

  • With C# API in solidworks you can grab the tessellation of the solidwork parts and create the Mesh in eyeshot matching that. Since you can control every features in solidwork by code you can simply edit the solidworks part and transfer over. Personally we do both, Solidwork to Eyeshot and Eyeshot to solidworks not to the same extend for both but we also have our own proprietary format as well that can be parametrized but in eyeshot. So there are alternatives. You do still lose the history in all cases.
